Shora were a precision swiss noisecore crushing unit, releasing a crushing split effort with Japa-noise god, Merzbow.

This album marked a suprising shift in ideology. Instead of focusing on creating mosh-inducing mathcore mayhem via furious drumwork, uncontrollable breatdowns and throat splitting vocals, Shora concentrate on creating a soundscape of crushingly dark instrumentals which effortlessly shift into light and airy passages before becomming emotionally disjointed.

This is a highly emotional album which affect the senses. Sumptous guitar melodies sound like they are dripping with liquid gold, oozing nimbly between excellently executed (and masterfully produced) bass and drums which have a tribal flair.

Comparisons are difficult but the psychadelic space-rock of Subarachnoid Space and Mammatus are definite bedfellowes. This has the power to bring tears to the eyes of monsters. (KS)
