experimusic.com
was set up in August 07 in an attempt to get the word out about the latest
‘genre-spanning' underground albums to real music fans (and those
who are flirting with interesting music). experimusic.com
is a resource for such fans to find ‘easy-to-digest’ information
about the latest music releases from some of the most daring, extreme
and/or innovative labels around. This site also hopes to add value to
smaller independent labels and artists (who find it difficult to get publicity
amongst the rabid infestation of mainstream labels pushing their homogenous
wares). This is achieved by going direct to potential fans through a number
of relevant mediums including University Press, Gigs, Online Forums and
Clubs. Music reviews have conveniently been segmented into specific genres
and will be updated regularly. experimusic.com has an
experienced team (and freelance reviewers) contributing reviews to the
site, ensuring that simple but detailed reviews are undertaken to allow
the potential listener to understand exactly what he or she is purchasing.

Kamio)))
Armed
with a (continously growing) personal 2800+ album library and known
for lengthy listening excursions in both sociable and unsociable
hours, "Don Kamio" has experienced more listening than
many will in their lifetime. His personal collection has much depth
and spans multiple genres. He has successfully undertaken freelance
reviewing for a number of online sites (mostly extreme metal based)
and has also contributed album and gig reviews to several University
newspapers aswell as local magazines. Favourite genres include 70's
Jazz/Rock Fusion, Technical Metal, Micro-Techno, Dub, Experimental
Jazz, Avante-Garde Classical and Post-Rock. |
Ray
Miri
Fast
becomming a veteran of the live music scene, Ray has extensively
reviewed live gigs in the U.K, Canada, Spain and Italy for both
local press, fanzines and online forums. Ray also reviews 'alternative/experimental'
music for a University newspaper. Favourite acts include 'Do Make
Say Think', 'The Necks', 'Circle', 'Converge', 'Terry Riley', The

Ant
specialises in the review of hip-hop, ragga, drum'n'bass, dubstep
and electronica. Ant has contributed to several fanzines and has
helped develop and run numerous Student hip-hop shows / MC Battles
in both the U.K and Holland. Favourite acts include 'Aesop Rock',
'EL-P', 'Canibus', 'Sizzla', 'Al Haca Soundsystem', 'Panacea', 'Loefah',
'Pole', 'King Tubby' and 'Amon Tobin'. |
WMD
WMD
would like to spend his life soaring high above the earth like an
eagle, but cannot and so listens to music, terrestrially like others,
that sounds like the sounds of flight. It is for this reason that
WMD is often found listening to sirens of all kinds for hours, rapt,
riveted. WMD also likes other kinds of music and is likely to suffer
from tinnitus before reaching middle age and go deaf by fifty because
of WMD’s hard-line stance on listening to music at high-volume,
which also makes WMD hated by those who live near WMD, who wouldn’t
know good music if it kidnapped and tortured them for a month and
who suck…hard. |

Aron
Fischer
Aron taught himself to write, driven by the
magical, transcendental freedom of music and a fascination with
the album as an art form. Today he's formally fine-tuning his geek-out-snobbery
skills with a music journalism degree at SFSU and blogging, like
every other douche with a cpu. Raised on Nu-Metal and Pop Punk and
expanded by Radiohead and Sonic Youth, he now maintains an up to
date, hipster-approved library of open-minded music, spanning from
sound clips of mating howler monkeys to your mom's favorite AM radio
station hits. (But mainly the stuff in between: indie/alternative/post
pop/rock, dance/electronica, hip hop/rap, soul/funk, punk, metal,
folk, psychedelic, etc.) Top 5 "Stranded on a desert island"
albums are Pet Sounds, Low, Daydream Nation, Loveless and Kid A. |
Angie
Pardue
Angie Pardue is a freelance music journalist
covering all varieties of rock and electronic, but is especially
fond of industrial, avant-garde, and horror punk. In addition to
her articles and regular feature column for BC Magazine, her work
can be found at her blog (theyfell.blogspot.com), and littered recklessly
across the internet. |
